We weren't close at all in high school, but David and I had much in common.  We are Eagle Scouts.  We served in the US Army Infantry as Sky soldiers.  We are Christians.  When he saw me walking or at the bus stop, he would stop to offer me a ride.  Being very introverted, I only accepted twice.  I will always remember his friendly face and the confidence that he always had.  Being in Viet Nam in the thick of many hostile actions, I can truly say....I know what he had to go through on a daily basis.  I truly miss the too many of my fellow brothers that fell during this terrible time in our country's history.  I have the confidence that when he met God in heaven....God said to him, good job my good and faithful servant.  He was truly a person of character that will be remembered.

Sgt Rod Mock, Company A, 3/12, 4th Infantry Division

When I was in Washington DC, I visited the Viet Nam Wall where David's name is engraved.  You can go to the link for his information at http://www.virtualwall.org/ds/SharpDJ01a.htm.

Sorry to just hear about David Sharp being killed in Vietnam. It could have happened to any of us who served over there, especially in the infantry.
