If anyone has information regarding David's passing please feel free to contact me via this website. We only knew he had been living in Manila, Philippines for the last 30+ years.
My good friend Dave, died last summer of heart failure. His first wife Leona was in our class. He married a second great lady, Lanore, from yhe Philippines. Both passed away before Dave.He spent half the time in the Philippines and in the other half in the United States. He was a great friend and I miss him. God Bless
I didn't know David well at SHS but I do remember him for his shyness. As an adult, I knew him a bit better through his dear friend Jim Lange (also a SHS alumni). Jim thought the world of David and visited him in the Philippines whenever he could. Jim would show me the pictures of their "escapades" and would share what a dear and good friend David was to him. Whenever David came stateside, Jim would open his home to David for an extended stay and they enjoyed being friends. I knew Jim for a very long time and if he considered you a good friend, then you were all right! Rest David McLean and Jim Lange.
Dave and I had good times and misadventures through high school. He had the best laugh and most gracious demeanor toward everyone and anyone. He traveled extensively while working for the airlines and ultimately settled in Manilla. He was to some extent a solitary guy; deer hunting alone, and going places without compromise. That's what made him special in my eyes. Years may go by with minimal contact, mostly third party, but when you were in his presense, you were friends just the way you left it. He will always be remembered.
